India & Purry: Tranquility Muscle Soothing Mineral Bath Salt.

indiaandpurry

I mean...after dancing two private gigs back to back, walking into Ross and reading MUSCLE SOOTHING Mineral BATH salt as you stand on two swollen feet and achy legs, this sounds AMAZING. And for $5.99, please hop into my shopping cart. I absolutely had to try it.

I loved the smell. I felt weightless. And the actual chamomile flowers floating around in my bath made me feel like a water goddess. Tranquility is exactly what I felt.

After searching online, I am not sure where this is available. But check your nearest Ross to add this to your nightly routine.

Dark Angel

I've been looking around for a nice exfoliating cleanser and I believe I've found a winner!

I used to have extremely oily skin.  But I believe living in Las Vegas has changed that.  The dry heat and air has snatched the oil from my skin (and I'm not mad about it!). I now only deal with oil around my nose while wearing makeup. When I have my dance gigs, I wear heavy makeup (the lighting plays NO games).  When I get home, I immediately wash it off.  I use Neutrogena makeup removing wipes to remove the initial layer of makeup then I go for a good scrub to get the makeup out of my pores so I can let my skin breathe.

While in the Miracle Mile shops here in Vegas, I came across Lush.  I've only heard great things about them and I'm not sure why I never tried their products sooner.  I saw a photo of someone using Dark Angel so I asked the associate what it was good for.

1. It absorbs oil.

2. Brightens complexion.

3. Unclogs blocked pores.

So, I tried it and I loved it.  I love the exfoliation.  It was gentle yet effective.  My skin felt hydrated but not oily.  I was happy with how clean my skin felt, and smooth like a baby's bottom.  I have been dealing with a few dark spots on my cheek from breakouts in the past and after a week of using this, I feel that my complexion is a bit brighter and my spots are lightening up.

After washing my face, I always follow up by downing a bottle of water.  Never hurts.

Muah!

My summer makeup routine was full of BB creams, lipstick and mascara--and a great pair of sunglasses.  Easy way to look fab in five minutes.  The lip color shown below is Bruised Plum by Tom Ford paired with Vino lipliner by MAC Cosmetics.  And these velvet framed sunglasses?  A bargain deal from H&M two years ago.

Face the New Year!

What better way to start off the new year by getting a fresh start with your face?  Here are my favorite products that keep my skin clear and glowing.  Hopefully they work for you, too!

Exfoliate:  Clinique 7 Day Scrub

  • Why is it a favorite?  An oily girl like myself can use this everyday to help fight off any greasy residue on my skin.  Unlike most exfoliators, it is gentle enough to use daily.  It also buffs away old dark marks, eventually helping to reveal clearer skin. After using it, I feel as if the next step, the cleanser, will be more effective in cleaning deep down where problem areas can occur.

Cleanse: Dr. Bronner's Castile Peppermint Soap

  •  I can go on and on about what I use this soap for. I use it to shower, wash my hair (on occasion), wash clothes, even brush my teeth! But the way it makes my skin feel?  Nothing compares.  My skin is literally squeaky clean.  Really! I can run my finger over my cheek and hear a squeak!  It's amazing for all skin types.

Tone:  Clinique Clarifying Lotion

  • Depending on your skin type, you will use a level 1 through 4.  I use level four being that I'm usually oily all over.  So for those with dry skin all over try Clarifying Lotion 1.  To those that are dry but with some oil, go for Clarifying Lotion 2.  And for those with an oily T-Zone, I would recommend Clarifying Lotion 3.  I prefer to use these, not with cotton balls, but with flat cotton pads to extend the usage of the bottle.  A large bottle usually will last me 9 months to a year.

Moisturize: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion/Gel

  • This product has been highly acclaimed for many years by many publications including Essence Magazine, Vogue, Marie Claire, etc.  It works!  It comes as a lotion for those with drier skin and as a gel for us with oily skin.  And yes, oily skin needs a moisturizer, too!  We have to replace what we have washed off to keep our skin from over processing excess oil.

Lips: Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

  • Do not neglect your pout!  There is nothing sexy or attractive about chapped lips.  After moisturizing your face, be sure to hydrate your lips with a balm that contains Vitamin E.  I usually apply after brushing my teeth and gently exfoliating my lips with my toothbrush.

Make-Up Removal: Garnier Nutritioniste Refreshing Remover Cleansing Towelettes (Oil Free)

  • I usually use this to remove makeup from my lips and from around my eyes such as mascara, liner and eye shadow.  Especially the glittery eye shadow.  When used before exfoliating, I feel as if I have prepped my skin for the perfect cleanse.  No more hopping out of the shower with mascara residue stuck to your face!

Having a simple routine to take care of your face is very important.  Keeping your pores clear and your skin properly hydrated can keep skin youthful and tight. Step into 2014 with your best face forward!
